Introduction

These tools and information sheets have been created and compiled for caregivers of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities who have concerns about seizures. These include general information about seizures, a Seizure Action Plan, Seizure First Aid, a baseline record, a yearly tracking sheet, and additional tips.

Supporting Materials

Epilepsy Action, is a UK website by the British Epilepsy Association. It offers tools and resources for primary care providers, including an Epilepsy Care Plan and Annual Review template.

The Canadian Epilepsy Alliance (CEA) is a Canada-wide network of grassroots organizations dedicated to the promotion of independence and quality of life for people with epilepsy and their families, through support services, information, advocacy, and public awareness. Find local epilepsy supports.

Epilepsy Ontario offers information on first aid, resources on types of epilepsy, education booklets and videos.

International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE) is a main scientific body devoted to the study of epilepsy, and it has recently revised its classification of seizures. The changes will help make diagnosing and classifying seizures more accurate and easier.
